Connecting with our Community

At Tobin Brothers Funerals, our aim is to go above and beyond not only to the service we provide our client families, but to provide aftercare and better educate the community around us. For this reason, we regularly hold events and launch initiatives that our share knowledge, show our support and raise awareness.

If you have an idea for an event, a request for professional development, or any other event-related query, speak with our Funeral Advice Line.

Say it Now

Whether it’s a family member, an old friend, or someone who was influential in their lives, Tobin Brothers is urging people to use #SayItNow to tell that special person about the impact they’ve had on their life and what that has meant to them.

Join our ambassadors, the likes of which include Les Twentyman, Moana Hope, Anthony “Lehmo” Lehmann, Peter Daicos, Archie Thompson, and many more, sharing their touching stories and expressing their appreciation for the impact a mentor, family member or friend has had on their life.

Tobin Brothers Foundation Awards

There are so many people in our community who are repeatedly ignored, unacknowledged or forgotten and the many small organisations striving to help them are fighting an uphill battle to obtain funding and public recognition.

This is one of the reasons the Tobin Brothers Foundation was established in 1984. To celebrate 50 years of serving the community, Tobin Brothers wanted to give back, and this is how the Foundation was born.

We have been providing community support in the form of grants awarded to grass-roots community organisations who are helping those most vulnerable and needy in our community.

Remembering our Angels

Remembering Our Angels is an annual candlelight service for parents, families and friends who have experienced, or been touched by, the loss of a baby or child.

These services allow everyone to gather in an atmosphere of candlelight and quiet music, providing an opportunity to remember, reflect and acknowledge the special place in our lives and hearts that our babies and children shall always hold.

Christmas Remembrance Services

Every year in the lead up to Christmas, Tobin Brothers Funerals hosts a series of Christmas Remembrance Services, designed to bring comfort to all who have lost family members or friends during the year.

These services are open to anyone to attend, and offer a space for reflection and solidarity in which you can remember your loved one.

We hold regular Q&A sessions regarding Funerals, including Pre-Paid and Pre-Arranged Funerals.

The team at Tobin Brothers East Burwood handled the funerals of both my parents beautifully and respectfully. You can organise funeral details or do clothing drop offs at any site which is handy if unable to attend the service site. We had priests as chosen by Tobin Brothers and they have been great. Had some light catering the second time around and the food was all delicious. Great option for a more personal experience. Thank you.

We could not have asked for better, the team at Tobin Brothers East Burwood were very helpful, caring and professional throughout the whole process. On the day of my Mother’s funeral we were more than comfortable with the support and assistance we received from the Tobin staff.

From the time our father passed away to his funeral, Tobin Brothers in East Burwood were fantastic. A big thank you to Judith the funeral planner, Veronica the Celebrant, Mary Anne who looked after us at dads funeral and the team on the day. It went very smoothly and the guests loved the venue and food.

Michelle and the team at Tobin Brothers Burwood organised the funeral for our father who passed away this week. Michelle was beautiful and made the process completely stress free. Thankfully we don't have to organise a funeral every week, but if I did I would use these guys! Highly recommended.

Founded in 1934

The first funeral conducted by Tobin Brothers Funerals was for Ena Margaret Price in 1934. In its first year, the company conducted 53 funerals and after the payment of creditors and the collection of debts, it made a modest profit.
