Funeral Vehicles

Funeral vehicles eliminate the stress of transport before and after a funeral service.
They can provide families with a much-needed space of solace between venues, help them to say their farewells in their own way, and can add another layer of personalisation to a funeral.

For additional information relating to our fleet or for any assistance with arranging a funeral or alternative transport options, please call our 24 Hour Funeral Advice Line.

Browse our Fleet

At Tobin Brothers Funerals we take great pride in maintaining our fleet of vehicles and have various options to choose from. For some families the make, style or colour of our vehicles can be an important aspect when planning a funeral, for others, simply having a reliable means of transport with their own personal driver allows them more space to focus on the day itself.

Speak to your funeral planner about your plans for the service and whether you require additional vehicles, need to consider family with mobility issues, or any other queries at all.

All vehicle prices are inclusive of GST.

It is important to note that from time to time we do need to hire additional vehicles for client families and we will always endeavour to ensure that these vehicles are complementary to our fleet.

FAQ - Funeral Vehicles

We hope this FAQ section helps you in your journey to provide a dignified and meaningful farewell for your loved one. Please don’t hesitate to contact us for further assistance or with any specific questions you may have.

We offer a range of funeral vehicles, including hearses, mourning cars, and coaches.

These vehicles are designed to provide a dignified and respectful transport service for your family and for your loved one's final journey.

A cortege is an organised and solemn parade of vehicles during a funeral, showing respect to the deceased and accompanying them to their final resting place.

While different families and cultures may have specific customs related to cortege arrangements, it is generally led by the hearse, and followed by close family and friends in their own vehicles.

Not only is it a formal and respectful way to say goodbye, but it is another way that mourners can come together and honour their loved one.

While it is certainly not compulsory to use a funeral vehicle, it is something we recommend to all of our client families.

Not only is it logistically easier, eliminating a significant area of stress on the day, but it is also safer, as

We always want to ensure you have full transparency when it comes to funeral costs.

As there are different types of vehicles available, it's best to discuss with your funeral planner exactly what your requirements are. That way you'll know if you just need a hearse, or would like the use of several cars throughout the service.

You can browse our selection above or download the Memory Maker app to see costs for vehicles and prepare a fee proposal to compare these costs.

Yes, you have the freedom to choose the vehicle that best suits your preferences and needs. Your Funeral Planner can help you explore the options.

Our hearses are specially designed to accommodate the casket. They are equipped with secure and respectful arrangements to ensure your loved one's peace.

Yes, we can accommodate child seats in our vehicles.

It is up to you to provide this seating, and in the interest of safety we ask that you fit the seat yourself prior to departure.

It is compulsory in Victoria for babies and children up to 7 years old to use a child seat or booster seat and our drivers will not under any circumstances break the law.

Please ensure you have the correct seating for your child and leave appropriate time for fitting it into our vehicles.

Absolutely. The Memory Maker App is a convenient tool that allows you to explore the available vehicles and create a Fee Proposal. It puts you in control of personalising the funeral procession.

Contact your dedicated Funeral Planner who will be ready to assist you with any questions or concerns, including helping you select the right funeral vehicle for your needs.

Our vehicles are meticulously maintained to ensure they are in impeccable condition. We take pride in their appearance and cleanliness, understanding the importance of a respectful and dignified final journey.

While our vehicles are designed for elegance and dignity, our team is open to discussing any special requests or customisations that may provide additional comfort and meaning to the procession.

The team at Tobin Brothers East Burwood handled the funerals of both my parents beautifully and respectfully. You can organise funeral details or do clothing drop offs at any site which is handy if unable to attend the service site. We had priests as chosen by Tobin Brothers and they have been great. Had some light catering the second time around and the food was all delicious. Great option for a more personal experience. Thank you.

From the time our father passed away to his funeral, Tobin Brothers in East Burwood were fantastic. A big thank you to Judith the funeral planner, Veronica the Celebrant, Mary Anne who looked after us at dads funeral and the team on the day. It went very smoothly and the guests loved the venue and food.

Michelle and the team at Tobin Brothers Burwood organised the funeral for our father who passed away this week. Michelle was beautiful and made the process completely stress free. Thankfully we don't have to organise a funeral every week, but if I did I would use these guys! Highly recommended.

Founded in 1934

The first funeral conducted by Tobin Brothers Funerals was for Ena Margaret Price in 1934. In its first year, the company conducted 53 funerals and after the payment of creditors and the collection of debts, it made a modest profit.
