Celebrating the life of a loved one is different for every family, and we believe in providing you with all the information and options available so that we can tailor a farewell that is most fitting for your loved one.

Funeral Options

A funeral is a deeply personal event.

Having provided Funeral Services for over 90 years, Tobin Brothers has the expertise and network to be able to provide you with a personalised funeral service to honour your loved one.

Whether you are after the most traditional of services, or the most unique, we will make it happen for you

Types of Services

The most common types of Funeral Services are:

Single Service

A Funeral Service held at a single location.

A single service funeral can take place at one of our funeral chapels, a church, a crematorium chapel, at the graveside or a special place, such as a park or community hall.

This funeral service incorporates a final committal process, and there is no procession to the cemetery or crematorium.

Dual Service

A Church/Chapel Funeral Service, followed by a Cemetery/Crematorium Service.

A Dual Funeral Service is a funeral held in two parts, with the first service taking place at either a chapel, church, or other chosen venue, followed by a procession to the final committal service at either the cemetery or crematorium.

Examples:

Initial funeral service held at a church, followed by the committal ceremony graveside.
Initial funeral service at Tobin Brothers Chapel, followed by committal ceremony at crematorium.

Memorial Service

A Memorial Service takes place after a private burial or cremation.

A memorial follows much of the same structure that a funeral does, however the deceased is generally not present at the service.

It is not uncommon for a memorial service to take place weeks or even months after their death, and allows more flexibility of time and arrangements than a traditional funeral.

We can help you arrange a memorial, or look after the committal only; the choice is completely up to you and we are always here to help.

At Tobin Brothers, it is our mission to guide families through the funeral process, and help them to create a farewell that truly honours their loved one for who they are.

We are able to look at alternative funeral venues that may have special meaning to your family, or the person who has died. We are also able to procure any vehicle to suit your needs and preferences, be it for logistics or sentimental purposes.

With Tobin Brothers Funerals you have the permission to celebrate a life any way you see fit and we are more than willing to accommodate these special requirements.

Once you have chosen the type of Funeral Service for your loved one, you will then be able to make decisions around funeral personalisation.

From choosing a coffin or casket, to floral arrangements and music, we are here to guide you every step of the way.

The team at Tobin Brothers East Burwood handled the funerals of both my parents beautifully and respectfully. You can organise funeral details or do clothing drop offs at any site which is handy if unable to attend the service site. We had priests as chosen by Tobin Brothers and they have been great. Had some light catering the second time around and the food was all delicious. Great option for a more personal experience. Thank you.
