Tobin Brothers Managing Director James Macleod founded the Say it Now initiative in 2016, urging Victorians young and old to celebrate the important people in their lives. Whether it’s a family member, an old friend, or someone who was influential in their lives, Tobin Brothers is urging people to use #SayItNow to tell that special person about the impact they’ve had on their life and what that has meant to them.
Each year we spend a week hearing the stories of our Say it Now ambassadors who express their appreciation for the impact a mentor, family member or friend has had on their life. In previous years, personalities from a range of industries have shown their support for the campaign, including Les Twentyman, Moana Hope, Anthony “Lehmo” Lehmann, Peter Daicos, Archie Thompson, and many more.

“Too often, our people have witnessed the heartache suffered by families and friends who did not have an opportunity to acknowledge the impact a loved one has had on their life before they died.

Such caring and detail-oriented people who made our family's life easier as we made arrangements after my mother's sudden death. They were compassionate, had a clearly laid out menu of offerings and prices (we held the service at a local venue and they handled everything), and provided as much support as needed (e.g. the Tributes team was happy to answer all my geeky questions about photo resolution and so on so her photo memorial was just right), and they handled all the printing, webcast production (a lot of people attended remotely as Mum had friends and family all around the world), etc. The celebrant who they hired for the service was superb - caring, professional, dedicated enough time to get to know enough about my mother and talk through how to craft the order of service so the full picture of her life could be painted.
I've reached the age where other friends with elderly parents have asked what our experience with Tobin was, and I have unreservedly recommended them. You don't want to need their services, but when you do, Con and the team are there for you.

My friend, Joan Hutchinson, prepaid for her funeral with Tobin Bros. in 1991. She paid $2391.00. for everything necessary—pickup limousine, coffin, cremation, viewing, clergyperson—like everything. We were left devastated when my brother in law passed away unexpectedly, he had no funeral fund so we spoke to several different funeral homes. Tobin Bros was the most competitively priced and it in no way did it look like a budget funeral. We were treated with so much compassion and respect and nothing was an issue. We were offered an in house celebrant that conducted the service beautifully, he met with us before the funeral to get a feel for my brother in laws personality and life so that he could really personalise the service.
Nikita the young funeral director that looked after us has a maturity and natural compassion beyond her years, she was so beautiful, kind and caring. We were so grateful for the respect and care she had for us and our brother in law.
