Always in our Care
From the first call until the final farewell, your loved one never leaves our care.
Who will care for my loved one?
When a loved one dies, families want to know one thing above all else: who will be caring for them? At Tobin Brothers Funerals, we believe this is one of the most important questions of all. That’s why we make a simple but powerful promise – from the first call until the final farewell, your loved one never leaves our care.
This commitment sets us apart and provides peace of mind when families need it most.
Every step of the way, your loved one is cared for by Tobin Brothers staff.
While many funeral providers outsource parts of the process, we take personal responsibility from the moment a loved one comes into our care, through to their funeral service, cremation or burial.
Our team members are chosen not only for their professionalism but for their compassion. They are trained to provide the highest standards of care, guided by the simple principle that every person entrusted to us should be treated as if they were our own family. Families often tell us they feel this care in every interaction, whether it’s during an arrangement meeting, at a viewing, or on the day of the funeral itself.
Managing Director James MacLeod explains:
“Families feel comforted in the knowledge that their loved ones will remain in our care and custody at all times. Tobin Brothers makes a personal commitment to oversee everything from beginning to end – not only before and at the funeral, but afterwards too.”

Respecting all Cultures and Traditions
Tobin Brothers Funerals has a long history of serving families from a wide variety of cultural and faith backgrounds. We understand that rituals, traditions, and customs are central to saying goodbye.
Our staff are trained to listen carefully, respect cultural guidelines, and ensure every service reflects the beliefs and values of the family we are serving. Whether that involves specific ceremonial practices, particular ways of caring for the deceased, or community traditions, our commitment is to honour each family’s wishes with sensitivity and respect.
This cultural awareness extends through every stage of care.
Murray Valley Cremations - Owned and Operated by Tobin Brothers Funerals
A key part of this continuity of care is our ownership of Murray Valley Cremations in Moama. Established in 2006, Murray Valley Cremations was completely renovated into a modern, state-of-the-art facility where cremations are carried out by our own experienced staff.
This means families can be certain that their loved one is not transferred to a third party at any stage, including cremation. They remain in our care throughout, which is a rare difference in the funeral profession and one we are especially proud of.
Clarity around Cremation
Cremation is an area where families often have questions. Myths and misinformation can create unnecessary worry, which is why Tobin Brothers has been proactive in providing clear, open information.
In 2013, we created a video showing the Murray Valley Cremations facilities and explaining the cremation process and this dependable process remains in place today.
For practical reasons, metal coffins/caskets cannot be selected when cremation is chosen. Every recommendation is guided by transparency and care.
The Tobin Brothers Difference
Funeral care is about more than organising a service – it is about trust. With modern facilities, experienced staff, and a deep respect for cultural and family traditions, Tobin Brothers provides something rare that we are very proud of: complete continuity of care, whether your loved one will be buried or cremated.
We encourage families to ask questions, visit our facilities, and meet the people who will be caring for their loved one.
Tobin Brothers Funerals are also proud to be members of Funerals Australia (formally Australian Funeral Directors Association), a guarantee of the highest standards of quality care and expertise.
