Prepare a meaningful Celebrated Moments Audio Visual Tribute with these simple steps
How to Prepare Audio Visual Tribute
Creating a meaningful audio visual tribute is a special way to celebrate the life of a loved one. At Tobin Brothers, our specialist Memories & Tributes consultants will help you prepare an audio visual tribute that honours your loved one perfectly.
Training in graphic design and production, they are experienced in working within the tight timeframes required for funeral services and are skilled at handling any questions or queries you might have during this difficult time.
Here’s how you can organise your photos to ensure the process is smooth and the final tribute is a beautiful homage to your loved one.
What is a Celebrated Moments Audio Visual Presentation?
A Celebrated Moments Audio Visual Tribute is a touching tribute set to images and music. By personalising your choice of images and music, an audio visual presentation helps you celebrate the life of your loved one and those who cherished them.
A standard Celebrated Moments Audio Visual tribute includes:
- 40 photographs and one piece of music (3-5 minutes duration) presented in MP4 format.
- The presentation is provided on a Memories & Tributes USB stick.
- A background design selected from our range.
- Minimum digital photo repair and retouching.
Step 1: Select Your Photographs
Choose 40 photographs that capture the essence of your loved one’s life. These photos should include a mix of individual portraits and group shots with family and friends, spanning different stages of their life. If you wish to include more than 40 photographs, this can be arranged for an additional fee.
Here’s some ideas for what could be included in the images for your audio visual tribute:
-
Portraits: Whether you have traditional black and white portraits of your loved one, or you have more modern “selfie” style images, it’s always nice to have a few single photos of the person being honoured.
-
Holiday Snaps: Holidays tend to bring out the paparazzi of any family, and photos from shared holidays tend to hold special memories for everyone.
-
Family Events: Birthdays, births, weddings, and other milestones in the family are often catalysts for a quick photo shoot. These photos often show the proud moments of one’s life, and those who were closest to them.
-
Seasonal Celebrations: Christmas, New Years, Easter, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, Diwali, or Solstice, seasonal celebrations can provide some great memories with family and friends.
-
Candid Photos: A photo taken without the subject’s knowledge can often be the most telling of all. They might be in the background looking on with pride or good humour, or maybe the photo has unwittingly captured their character perfectly.
-
Old and New: It’s nice to have a mixture of both old and new photos if you have them
-
Quantity: You don’t need to have exactly 40 photos if you don’t have that many or would prefer less. We can work with as few as you have, but it’s worth talking to our Memories & Tributes consultants if you have more than 40.
-
Quality: Photos are very prone to wear and tear, and technology is forever changing. If you have a very old photo or images that need some minor restoration, we may be able to help. Speak with our team for more information.
- Avoid: You may have family ‘in jokes’ or are honouring someone with a wicked sense of humour, but it’s best to avoid embarrassing the deceased or those in attendance so we recommend erring on the side of caution if unsure.
- Remember: You can always contact our Memories & Tributes consultants if you have any questions or concerns at all.
Step 2: Organise Your Photographs
Take time to coordinate with other families to obtain and collate as many images of your loved one as you’d prefer. You might like to sit down as a family to decide on photos or complete this task on your own.
Original Photographs: Don’t be afraid to provide us with hard copy originals, as our staff have the skills and knowledge required to make high quality copies, and take care to keep your images safe.
Digital Images: If you wish to provide digital images, please ensure they are a common file type, such as JPEG, PNG or TIFF. These can be supplied via USB, disc, or via a digital dropbox or link.
If you are scanning images, please export the file in JPEG format at 300dpi to ensure the best quality.
Display Order: Some families prefer to have the images show in a randomised order, and others have a very specific preference for the sequence their photos are displayed. You may prefer a chronological order, beginning from their youth until their later years, or you might choose more recent photos first, surprising viewers with younger or lesser known photos later. It’s a very personal decision, but feel free to call our Memories & Tributes at any time to discuss your options.
Collating Photos: If you require your photographs to be displayed in a specific order, ensure they are numbered accordingly. This will help our consultants arrange them exactly as you wish in the final tribute.
This should look like:
- Image1.jpg
- Image2.jpg
- Image3.jpg
And so on.
Step 3: Nominate a Feature Photograph
Select a feature photograph that you would like to be used on the opening and closing screens of your presentation. This photo should be one that holds special significance and encapsulates the spirit of your loved one.
Step 4: Choose a Background Design
Step 5: Select a Piece of Music
Step 6: Complete the Order Form
Fill out the supplied order form, detailing your selections and any specific instructions. Place the completed form in the plastic satchel or digital dropbox along with your photographs.
This ensures all your preferences are clearly communicated to our consultants.
Step 7: Return the Materials
Return the plastic satchel to Tobin Brothers or complete the digital upload via Dropbox as arranged with your Funeral Planner. Providing the materials promptly will help us meet the necessary timeframes.
Timeframes
Arranging a funeral service involves numerous tasks to be completed in a few days. Supplying your photographs, music, and text on time is crucial for us to prepare your personalised funeral stationery or Celebrated Moments Audio Visual Presentation. Here’s a typical timeline:
- Day 1: Meet with your Funeral Planner. After the meeting, gather the needed photographs, music, and text.
- Day 2: Deliver the photos, text, or music to Tobin Brothers as arranged.
- Day 3: Memories & Tributes prepares and emails a proof (print material only) for your approval.
- Day 4: Personalisation items are delivered to the funeral service.
Please note that this timeframe is for a funeral arranged under average circumstances. Timely delivery of your materials helps ensure everything is prepared in time for the service.
