The arrangement meeting typically lasts up to two hours and serves as a comprehensive planning session. During this time, our Funeral Planner will assist you in organising both the practical and celebratory aspects of the funeral. Our goal is to honour your loved one in a way that reflects their life and respects your family’s wishes.

 

Key Decisions to be Made

During the meeting, several important decisions will need to be made, including:
 
  • Date and Venue: Determining when and where the funeral will be held.
  • Transportation: Discussing the need for vehicles, such as the hearse or additional transport for the family.
  • Viewing: Deciding if there will be a viewing of the body.
  • Music: Selecting music to be played during the service.
  • Order of Service: Creating an Order of Service booklet and considering any audio-visual presentations.
  • Notifications: Arranging for the death and funeral to be advertised in local newspapers or online.
  • Post-Service Gatherings: Planning any gatherings or receptions to follow the service.

Personalising the Service

Our Funeral Planner will help you fill out these documents, ensuring that all legal and administrative requirements are met. This step is essential for finalising the funeral arrangements and providing a clear estimate of the associated costs.

If you choose to hold the service at one of our Tobin Brothers chapels, tea and coffee refreshments are included in our professional service fee. For more substantial catering needs, our sister brand, Diamond Celebrations, can provide a range of finger foods and catering options for external venues. Your Funeral Planner will provide you with a menu and discuss the available options.

Follow Up

After the arrangement meeting, there may be a few follow-up phone calls to confirm or update details. In some cases, a second meeting might be necessary to finalise certain aspects of the service.
