Why You Don't Need to Write a Death Notice
What is a Death Notice?
The purpose of the Death Notice is to advise family and friends of a death.
This style of notice generally includes the full name of the person who has died, the date of birth and of death and lists family names or relationships.
What is a Funeral Notice?
The Funeral Notice informs friends and family about the funeral itself.
Funeral details can be announced in the newspaper of your choice at a cost, and/or on the Tobin Brothers website as a complementary service.
Our Funeral Planners usually create this notice to include the date, time and location of the service as well as instructions regarding the committal, refreshments, donations and other relevant details.
Do we need to place a Funeral Notice in the Newspapers?
No, and these days, many of our clients prefer to advise of a death and confirm funeral details via their own internal communications (phone, email, text, in person) and through social media instead. We also offer all of our client families a personalised Tribute page as part of our service.
What is a Tribute Page
A Tribute Page is a dedicated page on the Tobin Brothers website which is created to honour the person who has died.
It displays the Funeral Notice, Service Information, Webcast recording, Order of Service and a Tribute Wall.
The Tribute page can be shared with friends and family so they can view the webcast if the family have chosen to have one, donate to any nominated charities, light virtual candles, share photos, videos and memories, and leave condolences and messages of love and support.
