Why Wodonga Families Choose Tobin Brothers

Nobody’s ever ready to make that phone call to a funeral home. But when you do, you need the person on the other end to steady you. To give you a bit of strength, and the quiet reassurance that you’ll get through this and it’s going to be okay. We understand how country communities do things, on both sides of the border. Whether you’re in Wodonga, over the river in Albury, or a surrounding towns, it’s the same: Word travels, the whole district turns up, and a proper send-off is as much about holding everyone together as it is about honouring the person who’s gone.

We’re an independent, family-run business that’s cared for Victorian families since 1934, long enough to know that a good funeral isn’t the biggest or the fanciest. It’s the one that actually sounds like the person: their music, their mates, the stories that get told and retold around the kitchen table. So we don’t reach for a template. We sit with you, we listen, and we build the day around who your loved one really was, and we stay beside you the whole way, from that first hard phone call to the moment it’s done.

Wherever you are, Wodonga, Albury, or the country towns surrounding us, if you’re saying goodbye to someone you love, where here to support you.

I cannot put into words the gratitude I have for Shannon, Josh and the team at Tobin Brothers Wodonga. After losing my father following a traumatic 36-day hospital stay, I was emotionally and financially drained. While other local funeral homes gave me cold, transactional quotes that felt void of empathy, Shannon’s first question to me wasn't about money. It was: "Tell me about your dad. What was he like?"
