According to Family Business Australia, family-run businesses account for 70 per cent of all businesses in our country. Here are Tobin Brothers Funerals, we are proud and humbled to be a part of those positive and encouraging national statistics.
As such, several members of the Tobin family are actively involved with the national body for family-owned enterprises, Family Business Australia (FBA).
FBA, which strives to “provide access to education and training for family-specific and general business development, and generate opportunities for families in business to learn and grow by networking and sharing with their peers” works to foster the sustainability of family businesses by offering engaging resources that help build stronger businesses.
Our views align with that of FBA: When a family works together and shares their wins, achievements, and even losses, it’s not just a job. Oftentimes, this is reflected in overall family business practices and how those businesses relate to clients just like you.
Membership within the FBA ensures Tobin Brothers is deeply involved within the family business community; we actively participate in educational programming offered by the FBA, as well as special events that allow us to engage and network with our peers within family business themselves.
In 1999 and again in 2004, in recognition of its commitment to family business best practice, Tobin Brothers Funeral Directors received FBA’s Family Business of the Year Award (Third Generation Category).

From humble beginnings in 1934, Tobin Brothers has grown to become one of Australia’s largest and most respected family owned funeral companies.
For over 90 years, Tobin Brothers Funerals has been owned and operated by the Tobin family, with twelve family members across four generations working in a variety of roles within the business.
