Escape from Neil’s Wheel

Good Friday Appeal Fundraiser

Victoria’s Good Friday Appeal

Victoria’s Good Friday Appeal, is one of the most important annual events in the state, raising funds to enable The Royal Children’s hospital in Melbourne to provide world class care for our children.

Friday 12th March 2021, The ‘unofficial’ launch of the appeal, as described by its host, is ‘Neil’s Wheel’, when 3AW’s morning host Neil Mitchell invites organisations to ride the Melbourne Star Observation Wheel until they raise at least $5,000.

I’m inspired by the work of The Royal Children’s Hospital and wanted to support them by raising money for the 2021 Good Friday Appeal.

Specifically, funds raised by this event will help to purchase a new ultrasound machine. The new machine will have superior imaging quality, which will enable greater precision during procedures and will assist over 250 patients each week.

The Appeal relies on the support of the community to raise funds to ensure the Royal Children’s Hospital is able to continue to provide world class care to patients and their families.

My 51st birthday will be one I never forget. Raising over $35,000 on behalf of Tobin Brothers, for the Good Friday Appeal on Neil’s Wheel – a fantastic result.

Thank you to 3AW and Neil Mitchell for inviting me to be a part of the fundraising event and to Denis Walter for jumping on the wheel with me and singing happy birthday.

A very big thank you to all those who donated:

Founded in 1934

The first funeral conducted by Tobin Brothers Funerals was for Ena Margaret Price in 1934. In its first year, the company conducted 53 funerals and after the payment of creditors and the collection of debts, it made a modest profit.
