Dr Spiro Moraitis
27 January 1933 – 7 September 2023
‘A little bit of everything’
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Doctor Spiro Moraitis, at the very sprightly age of 90.
A loving husband to the late Margaret (who passed last year), devoted father to Anastasia, Katina, Harley & Melissa and adored ‘papou’ to Nicholas and Alexander.
Spiro’s tireless work as both a doctor and passionate representative of the Greek-Australian community was recognised in being awarded the Commander of the British Empire (CBE), Order of the British Empire (OBE) and Officer of the Order (AO).
At home, Spiro was deeply dedicated to his family, offering unwavering and unconditional love and support. He was renowned for his strong moral compass, his warm and convivial demeanour, and perhaps above all his razor-sharp wit and cheeky sense of humour. Spiro believed in a ‘a little bit of everything’, all of life’s pleasures enjoyed in moderation, but always to the fullest.
To our Dad, our Papou, now you have gone to that ‘Great Albert Park Lake in the sky’ to join Mum, Yia-Yia.
You were truly one of a kind and will be forever missed.
Anastasia, Katina, Harley, Melissa, Nicholas, Alexander, Patrick, Rick, Scott.
