We sadly announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, Laura Elizabeth Brown.

Laura was born on August 8, 1944, in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Despite her valiant efforts, she passed away from cancer on July 24, 2024 at the age of 79.

Laura led a full life, growing up on a horse and cattle farm, many hours spent riding through the Edmonton River Valley, nursing in Edmonton in a wide variety of specialty areas, sailing (even though she always worried about small fish nibbling at her toes), and skiing in the Canadian Rockies.

The love of her life was her husband, Frank, with whom she shared 52 years. They bestowed upon their three children vast opportunities to live life to the fullest.

She was known for her cooking and baking wonders. She was well known for her kindness, thoughtfulness, and compassion. She will be dearly missed but forever in our hearts.

She was predeceased by her parents: Lloyd Wilson (March 1992) and Mary Wilson (November 1992). Her surviving family members are her husband, Frank; her children Jay (Lisa, Cohen, Finn), Trent (Carli, Jack), and Larissa (Rafael, Zee-Anna, Kaway); her siblings Bob Wilson (Margo), Sheila Skeans (Tim), Gordon Wilson (Nancy), and Barbara Wilson; along with 12 nephews and nieces, and 28 grandnephews and grandnieces.
Celebration of Life ceremony will be held 11:00 am, Saturday, August 3, 2024 at Tobin Brothers Mount Martha Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life in Edmonton, Canada is planned for October with details to follow.

In lieu flowers, the family suggests that donations would be gratefully received in her name to:

The first funeral conducted by Tobin Brothers Funerals was for Ena Margaret Price in 1934. In its first year, the company conducted 53 funerals and after the payment of creditors and the collection of debts, it made a modest profit.
