In loving memory of Mohamad Ali Hammad (Abou Chaoukat).
Husband, Father and Grandfather, our beloved Abou Chaoukat, passed away peacefully on the 3rd of September 2021, 88 years young.
He is survived by his wife Matil, eight children and seven grandchildren. A loving husband, father, grandfather, friend and confidante to all.
Abou Chaoukat left this world better than he found it. A highly regarded and respected individual within his Lebanese community,
Abou Chaoukat transcended an endless spirit of generosity, wisdom and respect for all.
Known for his fairness and compassion, Abou Chaoukat was a natural born peacemaker, a driving force for reconciliation and justice all throughout his life.
In his early life, he dedicated 21 years to the Lebanese Army “with a moustache to match his sartorial splendour, Mohamad Ali Hammad served as a lead advisor to the ministry of defence” (published in National Geographic page 256-257, Vol. 137, No.2, February 1970).
In 1976 he travelled across the seas from Lebanon to Australia, to continue a prosperous and abundant new life for his family.
He never neglected to appreciate the world’s beauty nor failed to express it. He touched many with his kindness, empathy and unmatched sense of humour.
Mohamad Ali Hammad’s unwavering strength of character and unparalleled charisma, brought light and happiness to those who crossed paths with him. He enchanted many with his majestic singing voice and captivating poetic flare. He had an undeniable love for music and was the life of every party and gathering. He embodied the celebration of life in all its magnificence.
Sheihk Abou Chaoukat, you have left a deep and sorrow void in our hearts, but your light, love and larger than life energy will shine on in our lives and memories.
Loving husband and a father to all, you will never be forgotten, and we shall carry your name honourably for eternity. Forever loved. Forever cherished.
Rest in Paradise, beloved Mohamad Ali Hammad.
