The Viva Victoria Festival was held at Federation Square on Sunday 22nd March 2015 to celebrate Melbourne’s cultural diversity and embrace cultures and traditions from all over the world.

Federation Square took on a whole new lease of life and Tobin Brothers Funerals was there on the day to join in celebration!

This vibrant grand finale for Cultural Diversity week (14 to 22 March in 2015) showcased music and dance across four stages, food, art, workshops, film, children’s activities and roving performances.

Stage performers included Jason Heerah from The X Factor Australia, Nicky Bomba and Bustamento, Traditional Samoan music and dance group ‘Tama Tatau’, Australian rappers ‘The Brothahood’, the Lehenda Ukranian Dance Company, Brazilian souljazz band ‘Abuka’ and many more from local indigenous communities, Indonesia, Eastern Europe and Africa.

Tobin Brothers Funerals employs multi-lingual staff from a range of cultural backgrounds, all of whom have specific cultural and religious knowledge. We design services that reflect the needs of Italian, Greek, Vietnamese and Asian, Spanish, Indian/Sri Lankan, Polish, and Eastern Orthodox (Russian, Croatian, Macedonian and Serbian) families.

We are so fortunate that cultural diversity is our way of life in Victoria. This festival celebrates the harmony we have achieved in our diversity and gives everyone the opportunity to experience other cultures, to be captivated by the vibrancy of the performances and to taste the delicious cuisine from so many different parts of the world.

From our stand in Federation Square, representatives of Tobin Brothers Funerals handed out bags, family trees, balloons, mints and pens, as well as brochures and information about our multicultural funeral services.

We were delighted to meet so many people on the day, strengthening our community ties and celebrating the lives of people of all nationalities and we are very proud to have sponsored the Victorian Multicultural Commission’s Cultural Diversity Week for a 6th consecutive year!
