Tobin Brothers Funerals are pleased to be in partnership with Victoria University’s Susan Alberti Women in Sport Chair.

The three year partnership will help build community and organisational capacity to create inclusive sport environments, with a particular focus on opportunities for women and girls.

Professor Clare Hanlon, the Susan Alberti Women in Sport Chair, says the new partnership is an important step towards achieving the Women in Sport mandate of breaking down barriers for women and girls’ participation in sport and physical activity.

“Tobin Brothers Funerals understand the importance of connecting with community and the need to create more opportunities to encourage and promote women as leaders and participants in sport and physical activity. This is an exciting new partnership that will result in tangible and positive outcomes”, said Professor Hanlon.

When four brothers established a small business in Melbourne’s west in 1934, they could never have imagined that 87 years later the humble company would become a national institution.

“To celebrate and make the most out of life ‘now’, there is a need to make Victorian communities stronger through the provision of opportunities to improve social, mental and physical health, in particular for women and girls”, said James MacLeod, Managing Director, Tobin Brothers.

Dr Susan Alberti AC, who received an honorary doctorate from Victoria University for her outstanding philanthropic services, said “This a valuable and welcome partnership. Tobin Brothers is making a generous commitment to shaping the future of women in sport”
